Although it originally began as a joke, the cheque handed over to charity by ladies working for systems manufacturer Veka for sales of their saucy calendar was very serious indeed! For following record sales of the 2003 edition of the charity calendar, the Veka girls have handed over nearly £3,000 to worthy cause Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Veka calendar started a couple of years ago when female employees at the Burnley based company dared the boys to pose for a company calendar. This proved so successful with the money raised going to a men's cancer charity that the boys thought the girls should reciprocate in 2003. And the girls, from all departments at Veka's Burnley headquarters, responded enthusiastically to be photographed by a professional glamour photographer in a number of sexy poses.
